Jude is our favorite bartender - she's great! She recommended her favorite, seafood chowder, and it was fantastic!

Vacationing on the water and faced with a day of clouds and rain? Here's an idea; go to Mangos, order a cobb salad with grilled chicken (I passed on the ham), find some fun people and play cards. The staff is wonderful, my salad was fresh (amazing avocado) and the atmosphere really fun (despite the downpour). Whether you are staying at the hotel, or walking along the beach, you can stop at Mangos for a drink (inside or out) and a quick bite. Others in my party had the turkey melt and club sandwich...good, solid food. BTW...sun returned the next morning and I had steel-cut oatmeal with fruit for breakfast....really yummy.

Attentive service. Small bar and restaurant. Limited menu. Food is average. Price is ok, such as $5 a beer (except for big occasions - Easter Brunch $90 per person? Really?) Nice, small deck and Tiki Bar. Weird music...some guy on keyboards playing hits from the 70's? Odd. Very odd.

Excellent breakfast w a beautiful beach view. $2 less for the buffet compared to Sweet Sage w an amazing view! Maia is our favorite server. Friendly and helpful. Be careful to not let John serve coffee over the top of the head of your one year old child would be my only caution. The food is fantastic and the family friendly atmosphere is as well

My family and I are on vacation and were wanting to try out this restaurant. I am allergic to garlic and I called to find out if they could accommodate me and I was hung up on. Very poor customer service!!!

View is outstanding, drinks are pricey but tasty, food is meh & expensive. Nachos had cheese similar to that at a convenience store, chicken sandwich was so plain I would've rather had a pb & j. Service was sufficient but not quite friendly. My suggestion: eat before you go, plan on a couple drinks & go for the view. The fuzzy pineapple is delicious!

We eat here every time we come to FL! Friday Night Cookouts are great. Seafood Chowder is awesome! Also good filets! Beautiful sunsets.

I would like to reiterate that the service staff are all-stars!! They astonished numerous people while I was there for breakfast by remembering their names and things they liked. Our waiter(John) was hilarious and full of himself ( in a fun/good way). Some of the food was set up buffet like with the normal bacon, hash browns, eggs etc but with a classy/upscale spin (the hash browns had smokes gouda in them). The rest of the food you could order fresh made from the kitchen. I built my own omelette. I had a chorizo, bacon, cheddar cheese omelette which was awesome! One of the best ever and I love breakfast food anytime of the day even for breakfast! Very very clean!

This is a great spot for the sunset. Grab a drink and hang out for the 15 minutes of beauty. I would not recommend dinner. It's way overpriced for the quality of product. The stuffed shrimp was lacking in many ways. The recipe missed on the unflavored stuffing and the sauce was bland and tasted like flour. I think it was priced around $26.00. The staff was very friendly which is always a plus. My next visit will be for drinks only.

Great place to hang out with some friends with a cold beer and some yummy snacks while on the water watching the tourists.

Food and service is poor at best. Waiter serving table next to ours was trying hard to please. Our waitress was preoccupied. I'm still waiting for the water I asked for three times. Service was very very very slow. Food was supposed to be hot but was cold when it finally arrived. This happened last night. Will dine somewhere else the rest of our stay.

One of the few places where you can have a meal with your toes in the beach sand. The food is good and the service is just ok. However, if you want to show your guests a unique dining experience....Mango's is the place.

Great place to stop for drinks and appetizers when taking a walk down the beach!!! Their tiki bar is a great place to sit and look the gulf with a drink in your hand!!!

Friday night buffet was wonderful for only 19.95 Excellant selection of fish, chicken and made to order sirloin. Salad, veggies, potatoes and dessert. Just enough choices , attentive staff , food was constantly refilled for dining Breakfast buffet was wonderful Eggs benedict, made to order omelets, pastry, fruit, etc

Food is a 2 star at best. Location is 5 stars if you want to have drinks at a tiki bar on the beach. Bloody Mary's are awesome. Tried many things on the menu & will NOT order again. Nachos borderline acceptable. Wings just not good at all. Fish spread, boring no flavor. Cuban sandwich as average as all the crappy one you get at a gas station. It kills me this is the only place in the area & they have such crappy food. We love the location & beach side bar, but it's a shame when they COULD have it all.

Great place to enjoy a beverage and watch the sun go down. Inexpensive drinks, food was good as well. Yes they serve in plastic cups, but its a tiki bar on the sand what else should you expect!!

Had lunch here on Tuesday, 12/2/14. Great location with tables outside, nice view, and pleasant surroundings. Presentation of food was very attractive! Unfortunately the flavor a and taste did not parallel the visual presentation. All of the meals we had were just 'okay.' They were bland with nothing special about them and nothing that would bring you back. Given the location, the view, and the presentation of the food it is truly unfortunate that the food does not live up to all of these other measures. If it did, they would be sold out for every meal.

Made the mistake of wearing a Hawaiian shirt to brunch one day and got mistaken for a member of staff. :-) The strengths of this place: 1. Staff -- friendly and experienced 2. Their ability to handle gluten free 3. Views of the ocean 4. Food is pretty good too Breakfast buffet -- including the omelette station is nice. I believe it is $16.95 (plus tip) per person, but is very tasty. Service can sometimes slow down when they're very busy, but not too bad. We've eaten there on a number of occasions over the last two trips and look forward to eating there again.

Went to this place for "luxurious" Easter buffet with friends. Complete rip-off. Adverts for "herb crusted prime rib" somehow morphed into bottom round beef raw in center. Ham was cheap brick style cut instead of spiral sliced......oh yes there were lots of shrimp. The dessert bar was wiped out. When we complained about that, we were told "lots of people are taking two". Yeah. Probably to make up for the lack of good entrees.

Sunday Breakfast Buffet - July 6, 2015 - 16.95 pp including drinks. First, my wife and I are gym rats and eat very healthy. Breakfast buffets are the perfect post-workout protein and carb sources. We first went down the street to Sage Green because it was highly reviewed but after checking the buffet, the choices were minimal and creative which does not lend well to healthy eating. Mangos is in the Doubletree hotel so parking was tough as they are worried about people lying and going to the beach. After assuring the parking attendant that we were just eating, he let us park. We then checked out the buffet before being seated and it had a great selection. An full omelette station, homemade granola, plain Greek yogurt, cinnamon French toast were the highlights. The other eggs and meats you would expect. The people were also great as well. The hostess was a riot and the omelette chef was very engaging. We chose a table on the terrace overlooking the beach and it was great. The final thing that gave them then 5th star was the the to-go cups for coffee. Breakfast is not rocket-science by its amazing how many places can screw it up. Not this place. It's exactly what a breakfast buffet should be!! Nice job!!

Not Caribbean ... This is a primarily American restaurant with various seafood, Italian, salads, sandwiches, and steak. The food is mediocre but plentiful. I had the ribs (fine) with (sad soggy) sweet potato fries and wonderful asparagus with key lime hollandaise sauce. My friend's calamari was crispy and light but the Cajun pasta was heavy and only okay. The craft beers on tap were delightful. We sat on the patio overlooking the white sand beach and the Gulf of Mexico.

Super convenient for anyone staying at the DoubleTree and doesn't want to venture far, especially when you have a prime spot on the beach. For a hotel restaurant, they had a lot of options to choose from (sandwiches, burgers, tacos, etc.). The surfside caprese with sweet potato fries was a good choice for lunch.

I like this place for more than just the food. You are literally eating on the beach. There's a beach entrance. So it's nice to eat, drink and enjoy the sunset. Located in the Double Tree Hotel, the restaurant is beachside. Tons of free parking in the garage out front. You have the choice to eat inside, the balcony or the patio off the beach. A fair amount of locals frequent the place beyond the hotel guests. There's an annual membership to the Mango Club for about $80. This entitles you to a free entree of equal or lesser value. We eat there with our kids and believe it or not, the free entree is the 2nd most expensive entree on the tab, not the least (typically the kids at other places). You also get other deals with this membership such as 10% off the bar tab if just drinking, discount on rooms, etc. We recooped membership fee quickly. Also fun is the hula dancers at sunset on Friday night. Tons of kids enjoy dancing with the dancers as well as limbo. Everyone seems to enjoy the show. It's nice for the kids. It's a sweet show and nice to watch the kids have fun on the beach with the dancers. There's also live music on the weekends, typically a guitarist with his karaoke type backup system. Some singers are better than other, big deal, it's all part of the ambiance. They also have a buffet on Friday night with a grill for steaks. Not a huge buffet but more for a quick bite to eat. I haven't had a bad meal there. Not super fancy. The staff both at the restaurant and inside the hotel are very nice. The bar off the beach is the Tiki Bar. It's always busy. There's also a quiet inside bar wtih TVs. The drinks are pretty good, they don't skimp on the alcohol when they make them. Thankfully, I can walk home after drinking there.

Food: we had a cheeseburger and the chicken tacos. Both weren't any good. Drinks: they didn't have any whiskey nicer than crown which we thought was pretty poor for a bar. We also got a "naked on the beach" which was just a bunch of rum and juice - not tasty. The drinks come in plastic cups, like the kind you get in a hotel room. Location: This is the only place thats actually on the beach for miles in both directions. It is part of the double tree. They had really weird live music. It was a guy playing a casio keyboard and a girl playing a steel drum to a kaoroake quality recording. They singinf was just them mumbling over the it. They did covers of songs like "margaritaville" My general thoughts on the place is that its not any good. Our server was nice but pretty awkward when we asked for suggestions on things to do in the area. I figured it would be better since it was part of the double tree by Hilton. If you are just looking for something to eat because youre starving you can defenitely find edible food here but you'll surrounded by crazy drunk people who wander in off the beach.

Went there for a quick lunch with friends last spring. The food was very good on the veranda, the service was excellent, and the view is enough to make the place memorable and someplace I definitely want to return to.

Bread is delicious. Views r great. Happy hour drink specials r decent. Loved the plantains. Grouper was average- wont get again. Would come back for the burgers that were delivered to the table next to us. Can't beat the view. Breakfasts r good too.

The food is solid. For breakfast, we had a free voucher for the buffet. I'm not sure what they normally charge, but it would have been worth it. It was pretty stacked up. 2 different types of scrambles eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, bagels, bread, french toast, granola, waffles, cereal and an omelet station. Everything was pretty good, except the sausage. It was super bland. They should seriously consider a different brand. There is a tiki bar outside, but for lunch we ate at the bar inside while watching Colombia get smacked by Brazil in the World Cup. We ordered grouper fingers, chicken quesadillas and sliders. All of which were tasty, with the best being the quesadillas. The restaurant is called is open to the general public walking along the beach.

This is the second time we've stayed at the DoubleTree where Mangos is located. The restaurant and tiki bar are the only commercial food places on this stretch of beach The food service is the best at breakfast and lunch.A very complete breakfast buffet. The dinner is OK but not super. But, the views in the evening are out of this world! (sunsets). The tiki bar is at beach level and keeps your drink filled. Great people watching! Any time of the day, the wait staff is efficient and so friendly. They really are nice and take time to know a bit about you. I was surprised when our breakfast server said "You're back!", remembering that we were there a year ago (must have been the Seahawks hat??) Ditto for the hotel staff.

I went to Mango's this past Sunday (8/16/2015) and I have to say it was just okay. The staff was great. We had a table with kids and the waitress was wonderful with them. It's a great place to eat right off the beach but the food is below average. If you want drinks I'd get beer, mix drinks weren't that great either.

  • Shelley W.

I have a very mixed review for mango's. Bar none mango's has the best view and sunsets on the beach. Bar none there is no better place to be with your family on a Friday night; there is an excellent buffet and island dancers that give free lessons to the kids that make it such a great atmosphere. That being said, the food is average and the service is below average. Not that the servers aren't friendly but they are definitely on island time. At the end of the day I am still a regular here and part of the dinner club but then again I am an island girl...

Came on a last minute idea on a Monday, but so glad we did. It's a mix of casual and classy atmosphere. Calamari appetizer is real calamari. Amazing surf and turf-The beef kabob was so juicy! Jerked fish taco was awesome too. The sunset view...to die for! It's close enough to beach to hear the waves crashing. After spending a week on the beach, this was definitely worth the drive.

Great views! This is one of the few bars on the beach. Expect sandwiches and some fried food but salads can be found as well. They do frozen drinks and a few beers on draft available at your table or at the tiki bar. This place is located beachside at the Doubletree Hotel. Park in the hotel's garage only if you re patronizing the bar because they tow. Watch out for seagulls swooping down to take a bite of your food!

This is the only restaurant in the area that is on the beach for a sunset view. I've eaten here a few times, plus had my wedding here. Tonight I went with a specialty not on the regular menu of Salmon with sweet chili sauce with Mango Salsa. It was heavenly and I normally don't like Salmon. The waiter, Dan was polite and attentive. Don't forget to ask for your warm chocolate chip cookie at the front desk before you leave.

Fast service, great location right on the beach. Enjoyed a couple Miami Vice drinks on the deck in the beautiful weather. The food selection was extensive and delivered quickly and hot. Try the salmon Cesar salad. Delish!

Eddie is the best! Great bar, good food and amazing beach access! The best deal for umbrella and chair rentals. Plus beach boy or man Kevin is awesome! I'm definitely going back!!

Beautiful view of the ocean but the food is average. I ordered the coconut shrimp for $12. It was good but there were only 4 shrimp. The nachos ($10) are not good at all. The grilled chicken on top tastes funky and like something that came from the Taco Bell drive through. Save your money and skip the food. Just come for the view and a beer.

I have to change my review of Mango's from 4 stars to 5 stars. They have the best breakfast buffet ever! That combined with the gorgeous beach front location makes it a win-win.

  • Rachel W.

We stayed at the hotel, and were too hungry to get lunch anywhere else. Better than expected. Reviews showed meal at par, but we were quite pleased Grouper tacos were tasty. Black bean burger was a healthy portion. Yeah you get plastic ware, but we're not expecting excellence. It's lunch on the beach. Alcohol was a bit pricey, 4.75 for a bud light. They so have good happy hour deals, so I'd recommend going to watch the sunset Poor waiter was too busy, but he was genuine and tried his best.

  • Makena K.

People please. One star for a pool bar that servers drinks in plastic cup? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. But please. While enjoying the pool and the beach, we has some hot wings, French fries & Diet Coke, Captain Morgan & a twist off line. Wings were perfectly seasoned. The seasoned fries were crispy. My drink delish.

I do have to say I was extremely disappointed by this one. I think I ate here years ago when it was a Hilton and it was good. It is now a Doubletree and The food was just bad. The medium rare burgers we ordered were crunchy and past well. The coconut shrimp was limp and soggy and could barely taste the coconut and there was none visible. Also served dry - no sauce or wedge of lemon. Company said the chicken wings were dry and the mild was actually hot. The kids liked the cheese sticks - standard frozen variety. The cuban was not a real cuban. What can I say? The food was horrible. Would absolutely never recommend this unless someone just wants drinks under a tiki bar on the beach. And let me add that they were not that busy.

The beach was beautiful at sunset, the water warm, a slight sea breeze stirring. Lots of folks out taking photos of the fiery orb sinking below the water. Perfect end of the day and a little hungry so we walked up to the Tiki bar outside. Ordered our drinks and looked at the menu which is a pared down version of the restaurant's. I settled on Fried Calamari and my friend had the Mixed Fruit Bowl. I couldn't complain about the Calamari, they were sauteed up just right without being chewy but the dipping sauce that came with them..ugh! I like cocktail sauce usually..horseradishy-spicy. This stuff tasted as it had been poured out of a jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce. Cloying in sweetness, no kick to it. It was a shame to dip the Calamari into it. The fruit bowl had strawberries, melon and pineapple..it was okay. I will bring a bottle of tabasco with me on future trips abroad..

Food is good not great the rum runner is very good and the view is the reason to go. Been many times and the food is consistently good but my wife goes because apparently no 2 sunsets are the same. Drinks not to expensive for hotel tiki bar. Lots of locals go.

Caribbean chicken was amazing with the potato salad. Great hang out place nice tiki bar.

  • Richard M.

The Tiki bar is awful. It's the sort of place that serves you a martini in a small plastic cup. Doubling down, they also provide cheap plastic cutlery for any food that you may be so unwise as to order. We asked for additional ketchup to dress up our lame sweet potato fries, and they achieved the plastic trifecta by bringing us a handful of ketchup packets. It's a shame because this place has a terrific view. But unless you are willing to smuggle in your own food, drink, and eating utensils, skip it and try anything else.

  • Lorrie W.

It's a shame, with such a great view of the gulf, good food, great drinks, all tarnished with bad customer service. If you want more than one drink, sorry, out of luck. If you want to start off with a glass of water, forget about it.

  • Richard H.

We have been here twice and found the food to be very good. The view is great since it is directly on the water. Free, easy parking in their lot.
